It wasn't to be for our Wynnum-Manly Mens 4th Grade, who lost their match against Northern Suburbs Mens 4th Grade on Saturday at Alan Pettigrew Oval.
Batting first, we posted 156 from 40 overs. Brayden Goss passed fifty on the way to 63 off 104 balls with six fours. William Mudford added a useful 24 off 35 balls. Credit to Private player, who claimed a five-wicket haul (five for 32) for Northern Suburbs Mens 4th Grade.
In reply, the hosts passed our total, finishing on 0/157 in 22.4 overs. Our opponents' best was a half-century from Matthew Hernon, who made 88 not out. Benjamin Thallon made a fine 54 not out for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
We'll go again.
